The prevention of machine accidents plays a prominent role in making workplaces safer worldwide: unsafe or defeated machines cause almost 30 percent of all fatal workplace accidents in the European Union.
For this reason, the International Social Security Association (ISSA) is launching a competition to make devices even more secure – the International Award for Safe Machines. The award aims to motivate machine manufacturers to prioritize machine safety and ergonomics. Besides a trophy, the winning companies will receive a certificate and a digital logo of the safety award.
The ISSA-Section Machine and System Safety Award will be presented every three years, with the first award ceremony at the World Congress for Safety and Health at Work, November 27th – 30th, 2023, in Australia.
